Nbaakee, Lebari Goodday and Ojekudo, Nathaniel Akpofure,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.9.2. 15163.]

This paper estimates the optimal forecasting model of Currency in Circulation CIC in Nigeria, using a secondary data from Central Bank of Nigeria statistical bulletin, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigerian bureau of statistics and the authors’ computations. The research work employed Box-Jenkins (1976) methodology to construct a suitable mathematical model by putting the Autocorrelation Function (ACF) and Partial Autocorrelation Function (PACF) correlogram into consideration. The model MA (1):   was used to predict the Monthly reported cases of CIC in Nigeria with a 12 months lead, which shows a gradual increase in the series. It is recommended that greater focus should be place on Naira value stabilization, increased exports of domestically manufactured goods and services, and development of sound monetary policy model in Nigeria for better flow of the currency.

A Software Framework for a Cost-Effective Web Based Biometric E-Voting Registration System: A Review

Jemimah, N. and Dr. Oye, N. D,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.9.2. 17180]

An “automated” voter registration system is one in which government offices, including social service offices, collect and transfer voter registrations to election officials without using separate paper forms but direct capture machines. The proposed system has the capability to check the validity and eligibility of a voter, thereby blocking invalid votes and access of illegitimate users to the systems. However, if the election is only facilitated by internet voting, then the technology would end up becoming a barrier to voter’s participation. This research is aimed to review: a software framework for a cost-effective web based biometric e-voting registration system

The Relationship between Organizational Factors and Technological Factors in ERP Post Implementation Success

Abdulmohsen Alshutairi and Prof. Majed Al-mashari

The research paper seeks to examine the relationship between organizational factors and technological factors in ERP post implementation success. The paper includes qualitative research that was conducted by means of a literature review, aimed at providing a better understanding of the specific organizational and technological factors in ERP post-implementation success. Findings indicate that technological and organizational factors have a huge influence on ERP post implementation success. Organizational aspects such as company management have to ensure they are fully committed and support the project to ensure its success.  In addition, management must also ensure the plans are communicated and understood by the entire company. Lastly, the research also outlined that technologically, proper education and training on the use of the ERP systems has to be provided to all the users of the system, to ensure the effective and efficient use of the ERP system. The users will be able to use the ERP system effectively and therefore contribute to their fulfillment, which ultimately influences the project’s implementation success.   The limitation is based on the behavioral aspect in post-implementation of ERP, and how success can be promoted, which has not been dealt with. Some suggestions that arise include the fact that entities are required to utilize and accommodate technological as well as organizational factors in the beginning of the project, during the pendency of the project, and in the post-implementation of the ERP project to ensure its success. The outcomes might assist entities planning to set up ERP systems in strategizing their processes and strategies in ensuring its implementation success. The research investigates the relationship between organizational factors and technological factors in ERP post implementation success.

Financial market is quite dynamic and challenging in trading where investor will either make money or lose their entire life savings. Predictive logic and analysis tries to evaluate whether there is any similarity between the historical data and future tendency. Accurate prediction and analysis of huge amount of financial data facilitate the retrieval of significant information from large data, which is unknown. In this paper, an attempt is made for prediction of stock prices and transaction trend to understand its volatile nature and predict its behavior to gain profits.">

Development of Characteristic Simulation Software Based on Qt GUI for Automobile’s Fewer Piece Variable Cross-Section Leaf Spring

Liang Yutong, Li Xue, Yang Lin, Zhou Changcheng,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.9.2. 20413.]

In order to meet the demand for digital manufacturing of automobile's fewer piece leaf spring, an characteristic simulation software of automobile's fewer piece variable cross-section leaf spring has been developed based on Qt. According to the mechanical model of fewer piece variable cross-section leaf spring and using Maurs integral, the mathematical model of its stiffness has been established. According to the relationship between the bending moment of the leaf spring and its bending section coefficient, a mathematical model of stress at any position of the fewer piece variable cross-section leaf spring has been established. On this basis, Qt has been selected as the framework for software GUI interface development, and the design method of drawing characteristic curve by QCustomPlot graphics library has been used to complete the software function development task. Finally, the software is used for example design, and the maximum relative deviation between its software simulation result and ANSYS simulation value is only 0.77%. It shows the reliability and accuracy of this software and its mathematical model. This has practical promotion value for the digital design of fewer leaf springs

A Novel Method for Recognizing Sketched Objects by Learning Their Geometrical Features

Mahmoud M. Abdelhamied, Yasser M. Abd El-Latif, Ahmed M. H. Abdelfattah, Fayed M. Ghaleb,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.9.2. 21423.]

Free-hand sketching is commonly used for communications by humans as a simple, yet powerful, tool.  Sketch recognition aims to classify hand-drawn sketches by machines into known categories. This is currently important, particularly because of recent advances in human computer interactions via portable devices. In this paper, we present and explain a novel method for recognizing sketched object by learning a specific set of geometrical features, and creating a classification for these objects. Our proposed method is divided into three steps: extracting the geometrical features from a sketched shape; learning the geometrical features; then finally recognizing the sketched object by building a knowledgebase containing the recognized objects with their geometrical features.
